What I saw wasn't that great, but there looks to be more.
The "BCG" (as I'll call it) is like a much-reduced version the Grand Canyon ("GC"), with darker colors rather than the reds and oranges of the GC. It's about 1000' higher than the GC's North Rim, but the BCG is only about 2000' deep.
I'd never been there before and I didn't have all day, so after doing Handies Peak and then some online work, I went to the BCG and I did the Oak Flat Loop from the park's handout. It's 1.6 miles RT with 400' of gain. The NPS calls that "strenuous". Thank for the ego boost, NPS people!
The NPS also says it has "great canyon views" but I didn't see them. Unlike the GC, the BCG has a lot of trees and those block the views. There's also a longer distance before the BCG drops off. There are a couple of spots where you can see the river below and for those you'd want to do the loop clockwise and only visit the first part.
I see, however, that there are some interesting adventure hikes to the bottom of the BCG, so I might see if I can work one of those in. Although, I probably won't. Or, maybe I will. You'll be the first to know.
